- Recommended Entry Requirements 5 GCSEs at Level 5 or above, ideally including GCSE Music or equivalent qualification. The ability to read music and to sing or play an instrument to approximately Grade 5 standard would be an advantage.
What you'll study
You will perform regularly on your chosen instrument or voice. You will compose pieces of music using Cubase & Musescore software. You will study a range of musical genres: Musical Theatre; Music for Media; Baroque Concerto; Mozart Opera; Romantic Piano music.

60% of the course is practical, so you will have numerous opportunities in lessons to perform and compose, both individually and as part of a group. You will enjoy the course if: you are open to being introduced to a wide variety of musical styles; you are willing to learn fundamental harmony & theory concepts; you are willing to take an active role in music- making both in and out of school.
