St Peter's Sixth Form KS5 PSHE Curriculum Overview

‘For I know the plans I have for you..plans to give you hope and a future’ (Jeremiah 29:11)

Aims: To ensure that Year 12 and 13 have the skills and knowledge and personal development needed for independent living or the next stage in their educational journey, in line with a Catholic anthropology.

Implementation: A range of topics that follow the statutory content, delivered through a series of 20 minute assemblies and 20 minute follow up tutorials.

The rights of LGBTQ, Homophobic bullying, same sex parenting

Understand the emotional and physical consequences of carrying a knife, and how people are affected by knife crime and violence
What consent means. How to give consent or say ‘no’
What is substance misuse? Drugs and their effects and classification
