Performance and Wellbeing
Extra-Curricular
We offer many opportunities at St. Peter’s for you to express yourself and develop your talents outside the classroom. Students are encouraged to become involved in a range of activities beyond the academic. Our performance and wellbeing programme complements the main programmes of study (the core curriculum and your subject choices). You can choose from a wide range of options, including the Duke of Edinburgh Award, the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) which will give you the opportunity to gain an AS equivalent by working on a research topic which interests you. This is very highly regarded by universities. Competitive sport will be open to all wishing to participate, as well as a number of recreational and well-being options.
Leadership, Futures and Personal Development
In line with our Catholic principle of service, all sixth form students are required to take on a leadership role in St. Peter’s. This can include running homework clubs, year 7 reading programmes, supporting in lessons and working on the site team amongst many other choices. Our Futures and Personal Development programmes will also guide and prepare students for life beyond St Peter’s, exposing them to universities, colleges, apprenticeships and many other opportunities so that they can select the path which is right for them.
We believe that students progress best when asked to do hard things, and we want our sixth form students to be beacons for the 11 - 16 school.
