Dress code
The Sixth Form Dress Code is compulsory for all members of the Sixth Form. The dress code has been devised to create an appropriate balance between smartness and the need to express individual style. As the most senior students in the school we insist on high standards of appearance and for students to be easily recognised within, and beyond, our school community.
This dress code is NOT optional
The following points provide guidance on what will and will not be acceptable:
SIXTH FORM STUDENT
- School Crested Blazer available from Monkhouse School wear Specialists, Gloucester
- Single colour skirt, trousers or dress, Skirts/dresses must be of an appropriate business style, suitable fabric and knee length or longer
- Single coloured buttoned shirt with collar, short or full-length sleeve, tie’s must be worn with shirts, top buttons fastened and shirt tucked into trousers OR single colour top or blouse which must not be low-cut, exposing shoulders or reveal midriff. Full length or ¾ length sleeve
- Jumper or cardigan with no large logos may be worn, but cannot replace the school blazer
- School/office shoes – smart leather or leather-like material, No daps or trainers.

Hoodies, leather clothing, denim including jean-style trousers, leggings, shorts, playsuits, polo shirts, polo-necked jumpers, large logos, trainers, flip flops, ‘Ugg’ style boots, converse style shoes, Ear stretchers.
For some practical subjects such as Sport or Drama, teachers may wish you to wear a different set of clothes. This is at the discretion of your teacher and will only be allowed during that lesson and not before or after.
If a student’s appearance is not acceptable the student will:
- Sent home to ….
- Receive a warning and/or be placed on the sixth form Student Support Plan. Full details available on the school website
- Contact made with home
BLAZERS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES UNLESS DECIDED BY A MEMBER OF STAFF
